Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination.
Leviticus 18:22
The following articles are of another volatile subject that I never would have imagined becoming an issue in my lifetime. The gay lifestyle has grown to be considered a fashion of sorts and it appears to be the “in” fashion. I just think that fashion trends should be checked at the door when you serve the Lord. I just pray they are making the right choice.

CHICAGO - The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America will consider letting its local congregations decide whether to allow gays and lesbians in committed relationships to serve as clergy.
An ELCA task force recommends that policy in a report that will be considered in August at the biannual convention of the nation's largest Lutheran denomination.
Gays and lesbians can now serve as clergy in the ELCA if they remain celibate, although some congregations have challenged the system and hired pastors who are in same-sex relationships.
The proposed change would cover those in "lifelong, monogamous, same-gender relationships."
The report notes there are specific divisions within the church over the gay clergy question, including disagreements over the nature of sin, biblical interpretations and what's best for people with same-sex orientation.

Presbyterians in Arkansas and central North Carolina have endorsed amending the church constitution to allow non-celibate homosexuals to be ordained as ministers, elders and deacons.
The votes were taken at regional presbytery meetings on Saturday.
Gays and lesbians can be ordained in the Presbyterian Church USA, but church standards currently forbid sex outside of traditional marriage between a man and woman.
The amendment goes into effect if a majority of the denomination's 173 presbyteries approve it.
So far, 24 presbyteries have voted for the amendment and 39 have voted against it, according to the Presbyterian Lay Committee, a group that opposes ordaining non-celibate homosexuals.

ESCANABA, Mich. - The new bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Michigan is an ordained Zen Buddhist. Northern Michigan's Episcopal congregations and delegates overwhelmingly elected the Rev. Kevin Thew Forrester at their convention on Saturday.
The diocesan Web site says Thew Forrester "has practiced Zen meditation for almost a decade," and the Buddhist community welcomed his commitment by granting him "lay ordination."
The Web site says Northern Michigan's new bishop "resonates deeply" with "his own interfaith dialogue with Buddhism and meditative practice."
When he was still Senator Obama, he declared that the U.S. is no longer a Christian nation. Since then state Houses have been making sure he was right. I know it’s wrong for the “reporter” to take sides but someone has to read a history book.
Like it or not, this country was founded by Christians and they used Christian values when they wrote the Constitution. Even Thomas Jefferson led the Congress in prayer and I’m not making that up; the man people call the first liberal was a Christian.
Between the churches strange sense of values and our liberal politics, this country is handing its faith away in big chunks.

DENVER - A Hindu chaplain has delivered the invocation in Colorado's House of Representatives.
Before Tuesday's legislative session, Rajan Zed read passages from Hindu scripture about selflessness and the common good. He read them in Sanskrit and then in English.
He also sprinkled water from India's Ganges River around the podium.
Zed, who lives in Nevada, delivered the first Hindu prayer in the U.S. Senate in 2007 at the invitation of Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Since then he has traveled to state legislatures to offer prayers.
I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
